Brad Jaeckel

I am interested in a Board of Directors position in Rural Roots because I would like to become more involved with our other local growers and producers and find out more of what Rural Roots does with that community.

As manager of the WSU Organic Farm, I am currently well connected with WSU and have many resources available through the teaching farm. At the WSU Organic Farm I run a 100 member CSA and teaching program and have experience in selling Produce to the Moscow Food Co-op and Farmers Markets. I also have experience with my wife, Kate, on our own farm, Orchard Farm.

I've been growing veggies and small fruit on an off for about ten years. I'm very interested in improving food security through education. To me, a sustainable community based food systems attempts to meet the needs of a community through fostering local food production, producer education, and consumer education. Because of my passion for community based food systems, I am excited to serve on the Rural Roots Board of Directors.
