Why go on a farm tour?
The Inland Northwest is blessed with many local small acreage farms and ranches that market their food directly to consumers. Getting to know the person who grows your food is a powerful way to influence the quality and character of the food you eat.

If you are a community member looking for local food, farm tours are a fun way to get to know farmers in your area and to see first hand why local and sustainable food tastes so good!

If you are a grower, or are thinking about getting into farming and ranching, you can learn about sustainable production and marketing methods and hear about the valuable lessons local farmers have learned along the way.

Tips for an enjoyable farm tour:

  • Wear sturdy outdoor shoes and bring your own raingear and sunscreen.

  • Bring containers and bags for products you may purchase.

  • Respect the farmers' property and follow farm rules.

  • Check with the farmer or rancher if children are welcome on the tour.

  • Keep your children safe and under close supervision.

  • Please leave your pets at home.

  • Have fun!
