Past Farm Tours Eaton Beef Chef Tour Thursday, June 18, 2007 Colton, WA
Chefs from all over the Palouse turned out to get a closer view of the Eaton's local ranching operation. Tour participants traveled by bus across the wide expanse of land that the cattle range over, from lowlands by the river to high on the Wawawai plateaus, and stopped at various locations where the cattle spend their time. Perhaps the highlight of the tour for some was the meal of Eaton Natural Beef and other organic foods, prepared by WSU Chefs. Dinner was accompanied by bluegrass music and wine sampling from the nearby Wawawai Winery.

WSU Organic Farm Field Tour On this tour, we went to the WSU organic teaching farm at the Tuckey Orchard. We had samples of fresh organic food from the farm. Yum! The tomatoes and carrots were delectable, as well as the freshly made cilantro pesto and other goodies. It was great to see how the farm has developed over the last couple of years. If you'd like to learn more about the teaching farm, contact Brad Jaeckel.

Farm Tour at
We really enjoyed our tour of this small, family-operated organic seed
potato and vegetable farm in Northeastern Idaho. We
saw their farming operations as well as their
famous Haflinger Horses.
